The Belgium postbop combo Ode for Joe was formed in the late '90s by guitarist Peter Hertmans, tenor saxophonist Jeroen Van Herzeele, bass player Sal La Rocca, and drummer Jan De Haas to pay tribute to the music of tenor sax great Joe Henderson. A live recording of the group's set at the 1995 Gaume Jazz Festival was released as Ode for Joe on Igloo Records in 1996. A second album, Caribbean Fire Dance, appeared from De Werf in 1999.
